Who We Are
Martin is a qualified, experienced designer goldsmith and can be commissioned to produce unique jewellery. We have been joined by Leo Thomas Johnson who brings his own unique skills to our business.
Born in Bourneville, Birmingham Martin moved to Alcester in the early seventies, his father John was a jewellery manufacturer operating from his workshop at home and supplying retail jewellers around the country. For several years Martin worked for his father before setting up his own shop in Chipping Campden in 1989 which became a well established business. Martin now works in Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight bringing together innovative design and impeccable craftsmanship in our new shop.
When Martin and Leo create a piece of jewellery from scratch they use specialist suppliers of gemstones and diamonds and can match your available budget.
The jewellery is designed and made by Martin and Leo In-house, in their workshop, which is unusual in itself as most jewellers have their pieces outsourced, or specialise in only a single aspect of jewellery making. For instance a setter will only set the stones, a mounter will only make the ring and the finisher will do the polishing, this is the production process used by larger companies however Martin and Leo can make a piece through from design to the final piece.
